Cambridge & Counties Bank is preparing the way for further growth by building up its director level of senior management as it passes the half billion pound mark in deposits and loans.

Alongside four promotions there is one new arrival as the challenger bank for business structures its management for the next phase of its expansion.

Promoted are: Simon Lindley, commercial director of real estate; Rachel Curtis-Bowen as director of marketing and customer experience; Jim Stevens as director of risk and compliance; and Jim Bone as director of operations and IT. In comes Tom Senior as director of credit.

They complete a seven-strong senior team at director level, reporting to the board which includes chief executive officer Mike Kirsopp.

Mike said: “In 2015 our business will become significantly bigger and more complex. The time had come to build up a senior team to take on key responsibilities as we grow and develop. At less than three years old we are still a ‘new’ bank, one that will deepen our expertise and resources to grow sustainably.”

Cambridge & Counties Bank entered 2015 with 64 staff and is anticipating creating more than 20 new jobs during the year. Mike said: “Managing a growing workforce and ever growing numbers of customers is a challenge we are prepared for.

“The manner in which we have expanded to date – consistently given 99 per cent recommendation ratings by customers – shows our commitment to personal and outstanding service can go hand in hand with growth.”

Rachel Curtis-Bowen, who has been with Cambridge & Counties since its pre-launch phase in 2012, said: “It’s great that existing staff have been developed through the organisation into a number of these executive positions.

“I’m really fortunate to have been part of a super team that have grown a bank from scratch over the past few years. It is exceptionally rewarding to see the bank go from strength to strength, which has also provided a fantastic career opportunity for my colleagues and myself.”
