Keeping all that information safe is a responsibility we take very seriously. That’s why we have a Privacy Notice that spells out exactly what you can expect from us when it comes to your information. We’re telling you about this now because the laws on data protection are changing in May.
We value your time as well as your privacy, which is why we’ve pulled together a short summary that explains some of the important things you should know.
You can view our full Privacy Notice here.
We use information about you to open your account, manage it and tailor the service we offer you.
We record and monitor our phone calls too, to make sure we’re giving you the best service we can.
See Section 1 of our Privacy Notice to find out more.
Some information comes directly from you when you fill in forms or speak to us. Some comes from credit reference agencies, other banks, or our partners. We also gather information from managing your account, such as the payments you make.
See Section 2 of our Privacy Notice to find out more.
We share some of your information with other banks or our partners, to do things like make payments.
We also share some information with our regulators, credit reference agencies or other official bodies, like HMRC.
See Section 3 of our Privacy Notice to find out more.
We’ll only keep your information for as long as we need it, to do what we’ve said we’ll do with it, or for as long as regulations or the law says we have to, if that’s longer.
See Section 4 of our Privacy Notice to find out more.
You have the right to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to fix any mistakes. You also have the right to ask us to delete your information, or stop using it altogether. This may affect our ability to offer you products or services. If you’re not happy about how we’re using your information, you can also give us feedback or complain to us and the data protection regulator.
