The business bank Cambridge & Counties kicks off 2016 with a new leader for its East Midlands Real Estate team an expanded South West and Wales team and its newly opened office in Birmingham.

Cambridge & Counties Bank begins the New Year having lent more than £425 million to small and medium sized businesses and experienced property investors.

The East Midlands team, based at the Bank’s national HQ in Leicester, has a new leader, Steve Adams, who joins from Norwich & Peterborough Building Society where he was commercial lending manager. He has more than 30 years of experience at Allied Irish Bank where he worked across the East Midlands.

Steve and his team are the prime contacts for the networks of brokers who introduce clients to the Bank. He is assisted by Adam Jolley, recently promoted to business development manager after three successful years at Cambridge & Counties.

Steve, who has lived in Leicester with his family for 20 years, said:

“It is an exciting time to join the Bank as it continues its growth and I am looking forward to playing my part in its continued success.”

Simon Lindley, the Bank’s commercial director of real estate, said:

“Opening an office in Birmingham, building the team in Bristol and recruiting the highly experienced Steve Adams to lead the East Midlands team means that as we continue to grow we have the right resources to maintain our close working relationships with our Brokers and their clients in 2016.

“Steve is a highly regarded Leicester local with 30 years of banking experience. His appointment will ensure that we continue our philosophy of having highly experienced staff on the front line to handle our lending proposals.”

In Leicester, Steve succeeds Neil Reddington, now the director of business development for the West Midlands at its first Birmingham office, newly opened at Colmore Plaza to service the Bank’s growing customer base in the West Midlands.

Neil, who has been joined in Birmingham by another member of the business development team, Alex Churchill, said:

“It’s great for the Bank to be at the centre of the financial district of Birmingham, my home city. We’ll be able to better connect with those at the beating heart of this vibrant commercial region.”

Birmingham is Cambridge & Counties fifth office – joining Leicester, Cambridge, Sheffield and Bristol.

In Bristol the Bank has welcomed Anneka Lee to its growing South West and Wales team. Anneka joins director of business development Paul Howard and business development manager Nigel Key in the team, which has moved to bigger offices as it grows its customer base in the region.

Cambridge & Counties Bank, which launched in 2012, offers property-based lending, asset finance and deposit savings via brokers and direct to SMEs and property investors.

The East Midlands team is at Charnwood Court, 5B New Walk, Leicester LE1 6TE and the telephone number is 0344 225 3939.
