Specialist lender Cambridge & Counties Bank has completed a rebranding project. The rebrand, one of the largest in the bank’s nine-year history, reflects its successful client-centric business model as well as its UK-wide growth and expansion programme and recent, significant investments in staff and technology.

Market research conducted to support the initiative underscored the importance of the bank’s highly personalised and dedicated customer service, the value placed on ‘human’ interaction, and its success in working closely with brokers and clients to build bespoke lending solutions. A key aim of the programme is to strengthen existing customer and broker relationships and facilitate new business growth.

The rebrand has resulted in a number of enhancements including a refreshed web site and a new corporate strapline, Built on understanding, which emphasises the bank’s deep customer ethos. Its website has new areas for both customers and brokers, with tailored content and improved customer journeys.

Cambridge & Counties Bank saw a near 9% rise in advances to customers in 2020 to £828 million. Despite the economic turmoil last year and impact from the pandemic, gross new lending increased almost 40% to £220 million as the bank weathered the crisis and continued to support SMEs and real estate investors.

In a sign of the continued growth of the bank, average staff numbers increased by almost 11% to 165 in 2020, with growth in the bank’s Leicester headquarters and new geographies such as Scotland. Across the year, the bank also invested significantly in its digital and technology infrastructure and expects to invest a further £2 million in 2021.

“We have grown significantly in size and scope over the past nine years due in large part to the positive relationships we have with clients and brokers, and we have put them at the heart of this rebranding initiative.”

“The bank's performance, through difficult circumstances, shows that our customer-centric approach, together with our ability to create bespoke solutions differentiates Cambridge & Counties Bank in an increasingly competitive market, and a new refreshed brand will enhance this.”
