Manchester-based GDP Funding Ltd was named Commercial Broker of the Year at Cambridge & Counties Bank’s annual finance broker awards ceremony held on the 16th September at Kilworth House Hotel. Sirius Property Finance won the inaugural New to Bank Broker Award while Sheffield-based Real Property Finance Ltd was named Residential Broker of the Year for the eighth year running.
Cambridge & Counties Bank’s annual broker awards have been running since 2013. The event looks to reward brokers - a fundamental part of the bank’s business model - that have helped drive the bank’s growth. In 2020, finance brokers helped the bank’s gross new lending increase by almost 40%, with a 9% rise in total loans and advances to customers to £828 million.
For this year’s ceremony, over 40 brokers met to discuss the sector and applaud the partnerships which have enabled Cambridge & Counties Bank to support an increasing number of SMEs and UK property investors. The event culminated in three awards being presented in recognition of the volume and value of business the winners have brought to the bank over the past year.
Donald Kerr, Cambridge & Counties Bank’s Chief Executive Officer, said:
“Brokers are core to the success of the bank and our increased lending. We take a very dedicated approach to working with them in delivering tailored, competitive solutions for their clients with a view to supporting their growth and business development. We’ve continued working hard and providing a great service during the pandemic.
“Enormous congratulations to this year’s winners – Andy Churchill, Alan Laslett and Alex Churchill from Real Property Finance, Paul Wilcox and Gareth Rees from GDP Funding and Nick Christofi from Sirius Property Finance. It’s been particularly good to meet up in person and discuss the challenges of the past two years but also the significant opportunities looking ahead.”
Nick Christofi, Managing Director at London-based Sirius Property Finance said:
“We’re delighted to receive this award in recognition of our new relationship with Cambridge & Counties Bank. Our partnership has grown rapidly, and we expect continued success as the wider economy picks up and the demand for the bank’s tailored lending solutions escalates.”
